MaGin Ki Yuzu strikes gold
at Gin of the Year 2025

February 2026 · London, United Kingdom · 3 min read

An organic gin born in Liège, a recipe with Japanese yuzu and vanilla, and a jury tasting blind: MaGin Ki Yuzu wins a gold medal at the international Gin of the Year 2025 competition in London, in the Compound Gin category.

A competition where only the gin counts

Every year in London, Gin of the Year brings together gins from all over the world. The principle is simple and demanding: samples are tasted blind. No label, no bottle, no manga universe to sway the jury. All that counts is the balance, the aromatic precision and the personality of the gin in the glass.

For the MaGin Team, it was a real challenge: putting our Belgian yuzu gin in front of a jury of professionals, in a setting where the story, the design and the energy around the brand count for nothing.

Gold in the Compound Gin category

MaGin Ki Yuzu competed in the Compound Gin category, for gins whose botanicals are infused in the spirit rather than redistilled. The jury awarded it a gold medal. The results of the 2025 edition were published in early 2026.

What the jury tasted

MaGin Ki Yuzu is an organic Belgian gin at 40% ABV, built around an unexpected pairing: the tangy freshness of Japanese yuzu and the roundness of vanilla. Juniper gives it its structure, while bison grass adds a soft, herbal touch. A lively balance, to be enjoyed neat as much as in a cocktail.

Behind the universe, a premium product

From day one, MaGin has told its story like a manga: a hero, quests, allies, chapters. This medal is a reminder of what matters most: behind the universe, there is first and foremost a bold, carefully crafted gin, able to win over an international jury with what is in the bottle, and nothing else.

It is also a source of pride for Liège: a project driven by four friends from the “Cité ardente”, rewarded in London, one of the historic capitals of gin.

What’s next?

The medal joins the bottle, but the quest goes on. To taste the gin that won over the jury, MaGin Ki Yuzu is available in our online shop and at our stockists in Belgium and France. And to serve it the way it deserves, our cocktail recipes are waiting for you.
